To be a bridge between Italian Cultural Heritage and Europe
EAL has as its main objective promoting, supporting, and representing Italian organisations and cultural and creative industries in the context of the European Union.
EAL was born on the basis of promoting Italian cultural heritage and all it can offer, in its unique and relevant way, which hasn’t been fully played out thus far in the context of the European Union
The Italian cultural heritage is an “insieme organico” (which means a joint country-wide network of culture) of artworks, monuments, museums, historical houses, cities and towns, and landscapes, which are necessarily interconnected and entwined with their local communities as well as the entire country
This “insieme organico” is characterised by a continuity in geography and of time, which is still now a fundamental part of Italian society and identity.
It is an “unicum” and, at the same time, it is a pillar of European identity.
However, this relevance is still unexpressed in the context of the European Union with regards financial access, transnational and international projects, exchanges and networking.
EAL’s main objective is to provide an answer to this need, becoming a concrete and effective reference point for all Italian cultural and creative organisations within the European Union.
EAL aims to reach its mission through 4 specific objectives:
Support the uniqueness of Italian cultural heritage, both tangible and intangible, through a medium-long-term strategy of access to European funding programmes.
Promote innovation by the enhancement and protection of Italian cultural heritage, tangible and intangible, and in the use and dissemination of cultural offerings through projects and partnerships between European, transnational and international networks.
Promote the improvement of skills of cultural and creative players through training courses, mobilities and exchanges, stages and periods of work, and traineeships, carried out at European, transnational, and international level.
Represent the needs and interests of Italian cultural and creative organisations as an “Italian system” through advocacy actions.
