EuAbout Lab ASBL – European Association for Research, Educational, Cultural and Social Innovation is an association based in Brussels, in the centre of the European institutions, but with roots in the heart of Italian cultural heritage
It was born from our passion for the culture of our Country and from our professional experiences, as European designers and communication experts.
This pathway has allowed us to know and work with Italian cultural organisations: museums, theatres, university departments in cultural heritage and design, higher education music schools, public archives, film and theatre schools, dance companies, film production companies, organisations for the protection of artistic craftsmanship, foundations and non-profit associations dedicated to arts promotion for social inclusion, and individual professionals of the sector.
Over the years we have met people with high-level skills and experience, high-value and innovative projects, organisations eager to begin a pathway of European design. A path that not only means being able to enhance its activities at a European level, but, more generally, to deepen and share experiences with colleagues from other countries, increase internal human resources skills, strengthen transnational and international relations, and promote a general process of improvement within its organisation.
However, we have often found a general lack of information and knowledge about European funding programmes and information on the possibilities offered by the European Union for the cultural and creative sectors, an insufficient capacity to have a voice at European level, leaving a potential that is often underestimated in the communication field.
These considerations have developed in us the conviction that there was, and still is, the need for an organisation that is able to connect and expresses the different realities that make up the Italian cultural heritage at European level – this organic whole, this “unicum”, characterised by contiguity and continuity, a fundamental part of Italian identity as well as an indispensable element of European culture.
EuAbout Lab arises from all this: founded by Alexandra Storari with the valuable support of some Italian cultural organisations, first of all Florentine and Lombard ones, which uses advisory services of Euro Project Lab, strengthened with Diletta Paoletti and Nerina Finetto involvement, EAL is an association under Belgian law with the ambitious goal of becoming a concrete and effective reference point for all Italian cultural and creative organisations within the European Union.
